Cold Lake Gymnastics Coaches

Krista Ramsay

Krista Ramsay Krista Ramsay is our Head Coach/ Program Director. This is Krista’s 20th year coaching gymnastics. Since coming to Cold Lake in 2007, there has been tremendous growth in our programming and to our competitive athletes. Krista is Level 3 certified in Gymnastics and Level 2 certified in Trampoline with the National Coaching Certification Program. Krista has also worked as a level 2 judge in Women’s Gymnastics. Throughout her career Krista has worked with various gymnastics programs starting out as a developmental coach for Stampede City gymnastics club she had the opportunity to coach many talented gymnasts including Athen’s Olympian Kylie Stone. Krista then went on to coach Gymnastics and Trampoline and Tumbling for the Altadore/Aerial FX Gymnastics club in Calgary where she was named Alberta Team coach for the 1998 Trampoline and Tumbling Western Canadian Championships. During that time Krista also attended the University of Calgary and Mount Royal College and obtained her degree in Kinesiology and a diploma in Sports Administration. She also was accepted into an entrepreneurial program on a full scholarship and earned her small business certificate. In 2000 Krista opened her own Gymnastics Club in Cochrane Alberta her club had over 698 participants. Krista has also had the opportunity to coach in Houston Texas with world renowned coach Bela Karoyli as well as in North Carolina and the NWT. Krista enjoys working with all levels and ages and believes that the fun, fitness and fundamentals of gymnastics can be spilled over into everyday life. She loves coaching and working with children and benefiting from their energy.

Whitney Petersen

Whitney Petersen Whitney Petersen is new to Lakeland Gymnastics Club this year. She is a level 1 gymnastics coach with NCCP Coaching Certification Program. Whitney is very fun and enthusiastic and is going to be a great asset to Lakeland Gymnastics Club programs. Whitney previously assisted summer gymnastic programs in Rocky Mountain House under Coach Michelle.

Cassandra McNutt

Cassandra McNutt Cassandra McNutt (Cassie) has been assistant coaching for many years now. Cassie began her gymnastics career as competitive gymnast for the Rocky Flips Gymnastics Club in Rocky Mountain House. Since moving to Cold Lake three years ago Cassie has competed for Lakeland Gymnastics Club. Highlights for Cassie include making the Northern Alberta Team to Provincial Championships where she was named Northern Zone Champion on Vault. Cassie went onto Provincial Championships where she placed 9th overall and was the bronze medalist on Vault. Cassie hopes this year to move up to the Provincial 3 level and also make the Alberta Winter Games Team with her team mates. Cassie has assisted many classes for Lakeland Gymnastics in the past 3 years and is certainly a favorite among all of our students.

Issac Heurkens

Issac Heurkens Issac Heurkens is our newest addition to our coaching staff he has been a part of Lakeland Gymnastics for many years now as a recreational and demo team gymnast. Issac is very enthusiastic when coaching and everyone who meets him knows that he is great leader, and role model for all our gymnasts. Issac will be assisting in our programs as well as participating in our demo team this year.

RayAnne Farris

RayAnne Farris RayAnne Farris began assisting for our club last season and is excited to continue on assisting this year. RayAnne is also one of our competitive athletes and currently competes Provincial 1. Last year RayAnne was ranked second in Northern Alberta at Northern Zone Championships. RayAnne hopes to continue on to the provincial 2 level this year as well as assist with classes in our club.

Amanda Irwin

Amanda Irwin Coach Amanda is coaching Gymnastics and Cheerleading at our club this year. Amanda was a recreational gymnast and competitive cheerleader herself as a child. Amanda has her level 1 Gymnastics certification as well as her level 1 & 2 Cheerleading Certification. Amanda's goal is to continue with coaching and continue to level 2 certification in Gymnastics and level 3 in Cheerleading.

Amanda Bischke

Amanda Bischke Amanda is one of our clubs Provincial 2 athletes as well as one of our coaches. Amanda has competed for Lakeland Gymnastics for many years and last was named to the Alberta Winter Games team, and Norther Zone team for Provincial Championships. We were all very happy to see Amanda add coaching to her long list of accomplishments this year. Amanda is very keen to gain all her certifications for gymnastics and has nearly completed her level 1 and 2 certification.

Michelle McNutt

Michelle McNutt Michelle moved to Cold Lake and began coaching for Lakeland Gymnastics in the fall of 2006. Her influence was quickly felt in coaching quality, creativity and fun. Since her arrival our club has grown dramatically. Michelle has coached for over 20 years. She is certified level 3 in gymnastics, and level 2 in trampoline. She also has her preschool certification. Michelle has coached all levels and has had great success sending athletes to Provincial Championships and Alberta Winter Games. Before coming to Cold Lake she ran the Rocky Flips Gymnastics Club in Rocky Mountain House for 11 years.

Ante Micic

Ante Micic Coach Ante has travelled all the way from Zadar Croatia to work here at Lakeland Gymnastics! In the short time he has been here he has proven himself to be a fun and concientious coach. Ante has many years of gymnastics coaching experience in gymnastics and diving. Ante himself was a national spring board diver. Ante has a degree in Kinesiology (physical education) from the University of Split and also has judged the sport of gymnastics for many years. We are all very excited to have Coach Ante as an addition to our coaching team.
